Projeto da Nova Ferrovia

The construction of a railroad between Dourados (MS) and Guarapuava (PR) is foreseen in Decree-Law 96913/88, in which the Federal Government grants Ferroeste the right to build and operate. The first segment, which goes from Guarapuava to Cascavel, was implemented and started operating in 1996.

In 2017, the Government of Paraná opened the Expression of Interest Procedure (EIP) to carry out the technical, economic and environmental feasibility study (EVTEA) for the construction of a railroad linking Dourados to Paranaguá. Four consortiums were qualified to carry out the studies, however none of them delivered the object foreseen in the public notice, so that in August 2019, the EIP ended.
